Merapi Mountain - 01 Nov 2010

Early this morning, Mount Merapi was exceptionally clear, so I went there for some good shots.

But 2 hours later, several powerful eruptions, certainly the biggest since the beginning. went to obscure the sky. Very impressive !

And then, Around 12 Am, Merapi came down....

If, for a reason or another, you want to use one of them for your blog, or asso, fell free to ask.

Beautiful pictures!

From where you took theses pictures and what is the focal length of your lens?

Hi Pascal.
I took those pictures from a spot I know around Turi, sleman territory.
I used a Nikon D90 and a 18/200 lens.

I was full zoom most of the time. I wish I could have a real prof zoom, but my god ! The price is so hight !

are you in photo too ?

Hi,

I'm not professional photograph but like volcanoes. I hope I'll be in Yogyakarta from Thursday night (5/11) to Saturday morning. Only one day near Merapi it's not enough due to weather conditions but, after this, I'll go to Krakatau.
Here you can see some of my pictures:

Thx, Julien of France...
How is my country ? (I am french too).
Seems that it's not a volcano that erupt in there...

@ Pascal
I've seen your pictures, good quality and nice shots.
Are you in Indo permanently, or just for a short while ?

No, I live in France and travel on volcanoes for my vacations only. My wife is from Indonesia (Bukittinggi) but live with me in France.

Fantastic photos, showing the force of nature! I am just writing a popular science book about volcanoes in Hungarian. Could I ask your permission to insert some of your beautiful photos?

@Frank
