Simo Merapi - Part four - The trance

To end the evening, some dancers wearing that costume (a horse) started to invade the place, whipped vigorously by several men... At first place, I thought it was not for real, but the marks on the costume told me the opposite. I started to realize that something weird was on...
Few minutes later, some of the dancers, followed by some from the public, went into a trance, unpredictable in their acts. A kind of agitated moment full of contained (or not) violence.
Unfortunately, my camera was out of battery...
It's only after a long moment that I realized how much obsessive was the music...
But a friend of find promised me to take me to a real ritual of trance.
That will be my next post, I guess...
